HOW IT WORKS

After booking your shipment with Relo Auto Transport, one of our friendly drivers will be dispatched to your location to pick up your vehicle within the designated 3-5 day window provided by your transport agent. A Transport Professional and driver will notify you when the truck is on its way and provide you with their estimated time of arrival. The driver will take a detailed inventory of any pre-existing damage to notate on your Bill Of Lading, then load your car for transport. Upon delivery of your vehicle again, a Transport Professional and driver will contact you with an ETA prior to the truck's arrival. Should you have any questions while your car is in transit, our team will be standing by to answer any questions and provide you with step-by-step travel updates.

 OUR FREE QUOTE provides for your specific needs. Your rate will include up to $250,000 in cargo insurance for open transport and $1,000,000 for enclosed transport.

 If for any reason you can not be there for the pick-up or delivery of your vehicle, you may designate a friend or family member to release and accept your car. However, be sure you or your designated individual is available to accompany the driver for the vehicle inspection.

Generally, once your auto transport has been confirmed, we ask for a 3-5-days window to schedule pick-up. Please be advised that we may need an extended window if the pick-up or drop-off location is in a remote area or on a less frequently traveled route. If there are any changes in the pick-up time frame, our team of transport professionals will contact you to ensure the car shipping process runs as smoothly as possible.

If you are shipping to or from a rural area, the overall transit time may be longer. Consider meeting our driver near a metropolitan area or close to a major highway to decrease the price and speed up your shipment.

 Estimated transit time based on mileage:

0-500 miles: 1 – 2 days

500-1000 miles: 2 – 3 days

1000-1500 miles: 3 – 5 days

1500-2000 miles: 4 – 7 days

2000-2500 miles: 5 – 8 days

2500-3000 miles: 7 – 10 days

3000+ miles: 8 – 12 days

Yes, your vehicle will be insured up to $1,000,000  in cargo insurance for enclosed transport and up to $250,000 for open transport. All carriers we contract are vetted prior to every load to ensure they have active and good standing DOT operating authority and adequate insurance. Even if we have recently worked with that specific carrier.

It is strongly recommended that you, or an authorized individual such as a friend or family member, be present at the time of pickup and delivery. 

Before loading your vehicle(s) our driver will conduct a detailed inspection of your vehicle and notate any pre-existing damage on the bill of lading. A signature will be required to authorize the release of your vehicle and to acknowledge its current condition. 

Our customers are encouraged to take several photos of the vehicle from all angles and save them for their records. A second signature will be required upon delivery to confirm the transport was completed without any damage.

Relo Auto Transport offers discounts for multi-car shipments, students, military personnel, and senior citizens. Please ask your transport professional for more information on discounts and available promotions.

If you plan on placing any personal belongings in your vehicle for transport, it is a MUST that you notify us at the time of booking or at least 24 hours prior to the arrival of the truck. 


The U.S. Transportation Law states that a carrier can be fined up to $10,000 for hauling household items in a vehicle. However, rarely does this happen. If properly notified, we may allow you to pack up to 100 lbs of belongings, the equivalent of 2 suitcases. If approved, belongings must be packed in the trunk or back seat and out of sight.

Please keep in mind if we are not previously notified before pick up the driver may ask you to remove all the items, resulting in costly stand-by fees or may refuse your transport altogether.

 If your transport is canceled before a driver is assigned, or within 24 hours of your pickup date, there will be no cancellation fee. There is however a $100 fee for last-minute cancellations.

Follow these steps to get your vehicle ready to transport:

  1. Have Your car cleaned for inspection
  2. Remove any radio antennas.
  3. Inflate tires to the proper psi.
  4. Be sure to leave 1/4 tank of fuel if the vehicle is operable.
  5. Take good pictures of your vehicle from all angles and save them for your records.
